Domain Aliases (Domain Pointers)

  • 25 Hasznosnak találta ezt a választ?

A Domain Alias allows you to point a secondary domain name (like `yourdomain.net`) to exactly the same content as your primary domain (`yourdomain.com`) without duplicating files.

Creating an Alias

  1. Go to Websites & Domains and click Add Domain Alias.
  2. Enter the new alternate domain name.
  3. Select which primary domain it should point to.
  4. Under settings, you can define what should be synchronized:
    • Synchronize DNS zone: The alias will share the exact same DNS settings.
    • Web service: The alias will show the website content of the primary domain.
    • Mail service: Emails sent to `user@alias.com` will be delivered to the mailbox of `user@primary.com`.
    • Redirect with the HTTP 301 code: Highly recommended! This tells Google that the primary domain is the real one, preventing SEO penalties for duplicate content.
  5. Click OK.

Using aliases is the perfect way to protect your brand by capturing multiple domain extensions (.com, .de, .net) and directing them all to your main site!
