Securing your website with an SSL certificate is mandatory for SEO and user trust. Plesk provides free SSL certificates through Let's Encrypt.
How to Install Let's Encrypt SSL
- Log in to Plesk and go to Websites & Domains.
- Locate the domain you want to secure and click on SSL/TLS Certificates.
- Under the "More options" or basic installation area, find Install a free basic certificate provided by Let's Encrypt and click Install.
- Specify the primary email address to receive notices about your certificate.
- Check the options:
- Secure the domain name
- Secure the wildcard domain (including www and webmail) (Recommended if using subdomains)
- Keep the website secured (This ensures Plesk automatically renews it every 90 days).
- Click Get it free.
Automatic Redirection: After installation, return to the Hosting & DNS settings for your domain and ensure "Permanent SEO-safe 301 redirect from HTTP to HTTPS" is enabled. This forces all visitors to use the secure connection!
